With polymer ring or partial colouration

In spring 2016, the first German 5-euro collector coin with the name “Blue Planet Earth” was released.
The copper-nickel coin posessed a real novelty in the coin market: An incorporated blue polymer ring.
The ring increases the protection against forgeries and provides an interesting effect with its opaqueness. In 2017, the five piece 5-euro collector coin series “Climate Zones of the Earth” followed.

In spring 2022, the next 5-euro series started with the nine piece “Wonderworld Insects” series.
Instead of the polymer ring, the distinctive feature of this coin is the partially coloured theme.
